Manchester “central to North’s success”

Manchester will be “central” to the North of England’s growth, according to Sir Howard Bernstein, chief executive of Manchester City Council. Speaking at the launch of Downtown Manchester in Business at the Hilton Hotel, Bernstein said: “If Manchester doesn’t deliver maximum outcomes where investment and jobs are concerned, the North of England doesn’t deliver.” Bernstein also added that the city “can look forward to a general election with great confidence” due to its achievements and successes in recent years.
