MANCHESTER NOTHING TO FEAR FROM NEW GOVT

Downtown Manchester held its first breakfast forum this week. Sponsored by Jaguar, 'What does the election result mean to Manchester' was the question discussed by a panel that included political commentators Jim Hancock and Rob McLoughlin and Insider editor Michael Taylor. All agreed that the Tory/Lib Dem coalition was the inevitable outcome of the election result; whilst also believing that Manchester's strong civic leadership, boosted this week by the news of Sir Richard Leese's return to the council leadership, will mean that the city can do business with any government.

SHORT TERM GAIN, LONG TERM PAIN?

The Liberal Democrat leadership will be feeling pretty pleased with itself this week. A formal coalition with the Tories, which includes five cabinet posts and a committment to a referendum on voting reform appears, on the face of it, a decent deal...

LETTERS

Everybody loves magnets. More specifically Fridge Magnets. In this new technology led world, what was the next logical step for Magnets? Well Multi-Player online games of course.

The premise of Letters is simple, try and spell words on your virtual ‘Fridge’, but the twist is, you’re not the only one trying to make words, other people from around the world are online and they are trying to make words for themselves too. So don’t be surprised if some takes that ‘D’ you wanted to use.
